Convention Center

Sunday @ the Booth

Another wonderful day at the International Festival. Lots of Canadians dropped by the Booth and found out about CNNC. We hope to see you at our events, new friends!  Many other visitors wanted to ‘spend winter in Canada’ and get their photo taken in front of our mural. Enjoy the few pics below.

Thank you to all our volunteers who worked the booth today. Send us photos if you have any!

Saturday @ the Booth

Here’s a brief visual recap of the activities at the Canada Booth today. Another fun day, as you can see.

Many thanks to all our great volunteers who hosted today. Our final report submitted to our sponsors will contain photos. Don’t forget to share with us!

Friday @ The Booth

Our first day at the Booth started with pomp and circumstance with the visit of Consul General of Canada Nadia Theodore and Ash Miller, Political and Economic Relations Officer. Take a look at some of the photos of this morning’s activity at the Canada Booth.

Many thanks to all our volunteers who hosted today.  Please send along your photos!

The Booth is ready!

Take a look at the few pics of the booth setup today. Thanks to Gary, Denise and Caroline (and a few passers-by) for getting everything ready. We even had a couple of visitors drop by to “spend winter in Canada” in front of our super mural!  (We think that’s going to be popular!)

Come see us this weekend!

Come see us at the Canada Booth!

Canada will be represented again this year at the Raleigh International Festival on Oct 26-28.  We invite you to drop by the Canada Cultural Booth to see how we’ve interpreted this year’s theme, Celebrations Around the World.  (You might want to wear a tuque or mukluks!)  We have a wonderful team of Canadian volunteers ready to welcome you on all three days of the festival.

There will be dancing, music, culture, food and much more! Join us on Friday, Oct. 26 (10:30am – 10pm), Saturday, Oct. 27 (10am – 10pm) and Sunday, Oct. 28 (11am – 7pm). Visit the Raleigh International Festival website to purchase tickets or view the schedules

The Canada Cultural Booth is organized by Canadian Network of North Carolina in partnership with the Consulate General of Canada in Atlanta and the generous support of RBC Bank.

Booth 2017: Day 3

Another wonderful day at the Canada Booth and the last of this year’s International Festival. The combination of the colourful superheroes and the contemplative black and white didactics about the real, human heroes was a success. We got great compliments about the booth all weekend: eye-catching, educational, fun, well-designed with easy to read panels, and–most important–hosted by knowledgeable and friendly volunteers.

Here are a few photos of today’s action at the Booth.

Thank you to our superb volunteers who hosted today: Carol, Caroline, Helen, Frank, Ethan, Paul, and Gary.

Booth 2017: Day 2

Another great day at the Canada Booth enlightening puzzled visitors who didn’t realize that Superman had a Canadian connection (artist and co-creator Joe Shuster was born in Toronto). More people took time to also look at the true Canadian heroes today. Several were amazed at the diversity of the heroic human on our walls and at their courage, valour and accomplishments.

Thank you to our fantastic volunteers who hosted the Booth today: Gary, Paul, Joe, Jane, Susana, Ian, Donna, Alara, Caitlyn, Nedelka. Karissa, Martin and Caroline!

Booth 2017: Day 1

Hoards of children descended upon the Canada Booth (a tad earlier than anticipated) on this first day of the 2017 Raleigh International Festival. We tricked young and old by switching the names of the superheroes featured in the booth… but many have thus discovered the amazing Nelvana of the Northern Lights and super cool Captain Canuck.

Canada 150 flags, pins, tattoos as well as maple candy and colouring sheets were distributed to the great delight of the masses. See our wonderful volunteers in action!

Many thanks to volunteers Shirley, Tera, Denise, Craig, Dominique, Gary, Paul and Caroline for hosting the Canada Booth today!
